I’ve always been wanting to be able to play a guitar since forever but I hadn’t been able to do so. I had 3 guitar classes in the past but it never worked out. The training was really tough and boring. Each class took me about 3 moths but after those classes I couldn’t even play a song. They all started from the very basic and theoretical lessons (the old way) which I now realized they weren’t suitable for me because I didn’t intent to play in a band anyways.
Recently, while thinking of something to fill up my free time (weekends, of course) I suddenly thought about learning a guitar. I was really hesitant at first because I failed three times already but then I though hey if I wasn’t determined enough to pick up what I really like, what else can I do. If I don’t have “the talent” I just need to try harder. I borrowed a guitar from my flatmate and went online looking for some tutorials and inspirations to get myself started. A week after that, I bought my own one
It’s been a month or so since I started learning to play a guitar. Now I can play 2 songs (”Everything I do” by Bryan Adams and “You and me” by Lifehouse). Oh, when I said “I can play 2 songs” it doesn’t mean that I can play them smoothly and I can play in front of the other people heheh. My strumming is still quite jumpy and chord progression is still slow. However, I would say the progress has been quite good considering it has been only a month and I don’t have much time to practice.
Some advices, don’t give up on what you love. If you find the process of getting there doesn’t work, there must be something wrong in the process. So, change your way of thinking, learning process/method and seek some inspirations. FYI, writing this post is part of my inspiration boosting
It was favorite hehe. Something reminded me of it just now. It so reminded me of the old time hehe with friends back home. Well, someone needs to listen to it.
I’ve been thinking about you, my love And all the crazy things that you put me through Now I’m coming around, Throwing it back to you Were you thinking of me when you kissed him Could you taste me when you licked his skin All the while I showerd you with trust and promises What I’m needing now is some sweet revenge To get back all that I lost then I gave you all I had to give, but I could never reach you
Chorus : Oh, Adrienne, I thought I knew you Once again, you used me, used me Adrienne, I should have left you Long before you used me, Used me up
Spent my money, drove my car I treated you like a shining star But in my sky all burnt out you are And I’ll have the last laugh, when I see you walking with some other guy ‘Cause I know you’re gonna end up all alone So take these words, some good advice All you’ve done’s gonna come back twice You never cared how much it hurt, I really need to tell you
Chorus
What I’m needing now is some sweet revenge To get back all that I lost then. I gave you all that I had to give, but I could never reach you
I’ve been tagged by Hans to join the 7tubes game. I don’t really know what it is though but here’s the theme, list 7 songs that we have been listening to recently and tag other people. I clicked my iTunes‘ “Recently Played” smart list and here are the six songs from the list and one not from the list.
1. Breathing by Lifehouse This song’s in Lifehouse’s first album but it keeps me coming back again and again.
2. Every Woman In The World – Air Supply I got to know this song by a movie called slither.
3. Besame mucho – Andrea Bocelli I stole this Guitarra Cafe cd from my dad. I played all the songs and liked most of ‘em. but since I watched this movie (i can’t remember the name), it made me like it more and more. The song is a featured song of the movie.
4. Poison – GTO OST 4 or 5 years back I watched this jap series with my friends back in Cambodia and something just reminded me about it. I jumped to YouTube.com and played it again.
5. Back to you – Bryan Adams 10 years ago, I played this songs again and again everyday and lately I started to bring it back.
6. Feel good inc. – Gorillaz It was my last year favorite and it still rocks.
7. It don’t matter – Donavon Frankenreiter I know nothing about his guy and the song but I really like it.
I have found this page on the web. It sounds interesting to me and I think it might be interesting to some of you too so I decided to post it here. It’s an comtemporary art exhibition. Reyum hosted this exhibition in 2002, it is quite a long time ago but those artworks are really spectacular. The theme of the exhibition is “Vision of the Future”. As far as I am concered most of artists showed their perspectives about future of Cambodia through their works. Enjoy!
